Detecting a 1882 Kansas Church

My best day detecting ever! My first time getting a private permission instead of detecting public parks and it paid off in a huge way. Found an old 1882 church in an area with a ton of early Kansas history. My first V Nickel, 5 indian heads (oldest was 1882, same year as the church was built), a 1906 D barber dime, and an AMAZING 1902 O Barber Quarter!

Holy smokes!!! That's an outstanding day for sure. Those Barber quarters are always hiding from me.
I would go back and hit it again. I'm sure you will pull some more out of there. :icon_thumright:
Congrats,

Congratulations on the great hunt.

Never detected church yards are hard to find now.
30-50yrs ago they were plenty.
I have one church site that has been giving up the silver now for Many years.
Looking at the photo there probably is more lurking in the grasses.
Best of luck on a return hunt.

Congratulations on your success
Try to get back I’m confident there could be some more good ones

Dulce! Where you hunt is far more important than how you hunt, or what you hunt with.

Good luck to all,
