If it's anything like the 12"x15" it'll be a great coil. Order a sling if you haven't already got one. I had to get one to manage the 15. Gets heavy after several hours. They're sensitive to small earing studs at the 15" size. It's my main choice park hunting for jewelry. Even does pretty darn good around very trashy shelter areas.

I'd think they would share very similar operating characteristics.

I'd be also interested in any direct experience someone might have with the larger 18"sef.
 

I have all the sef coils. The 15x18 is heavy. I have found single coins with it but the majority of coins are clusters of two or more. It's not as easy to pinpoint with as 12x15 or 13" ultimate. It's more of a cache coil. Most targets are large,deep & need a big hole. The 12x15 &13" ultimate are better on coins. The ultimate coil is light. I can swing the ultimate all day.
 

Thanks, one arm willy, that helps affirm that I made the correct decision for my needs when trying to decide between the 12x15 vs 15x18. :icon_thumright:
