Dropped there, from elsewhere.
That has happened here in Australia. Loner Nuggets found in non auriferous ground. Apparently here Aboriginals would see a glittering in the sun nugget and carry it for whatever reason and drop it somewhere else.
Lucky finders of these things any way they get there. 👍

So generous to split with the owner of the gold that generously granted permission for what was likely a bunk of folks digging interesting things of little monetary value.

Cool though. Maybe more there. Might be part of a stash or hoard. I’d quit searching for awhile and get the land owner to shut off access.
