In a desperate attempt, I headed out to the grocery store parking lots to look for some loose change in the plowed snow banks. I took a short cut by the high school and was surprised to see the city had been cutting trees along a stream and flattened out the snow in a field. Just perfect! Detected for a little over an hour and calmed the cabin fever. Here’s the field.

Made a few finds. Two buttons, two musket balls and a worn copper coin. It was great to get out, last time out was January 1st. HH, Mike

Way to go. Right place at the right time. Congrats!

Glad you could get out. I am going to attempt it today here. The temps are supposed to be in the 30's today so I hope a little softening may occur. Then I can scratch the itch myself.

The object in the left of the picture...is that a button? Looks pretty large, and broken.

Thanks, I was lucky to find a place to detect and didn't have to go to the parking lots, LOL. MM/Doug, it was a warm day, 34F with a breeze. DMN, yes, that is a large broken button made of pewter, whole would be the size of an American half dollar. Not sure of the age but I think early to mid 1800s. HH, Mike

I feel your pain!
