I looked on penn pilot, looks like the only thing thats changed is some trees are gone, and a new ponds been added, I think there is someone on the forum here from delano.

Correction, the new pond looks like some kind of reclamation pond area, the upper resevior is owned by service electric which owns alot of the upper wooded area, my father in law is very familiar with Delano, I will get with him for some more info.

Jeff, just wondering about that name of Swamp poodle. Looking at the names of towns and villiages in the coal region, it lists Forestville as formerly being named Swamp poodle. I haven't heard of that name being mentioned about Delano or a picnic area there either. However, there was a picnic area at Mahanoy City which is now Glendon Patch. It is remored that the Peddler's money was buried there or nearby as there was a field in that location where the children found some of his copper coins that were stolen from him. I could be wrong, but just my two cents worth.

Yes I have that Also

Swamp Poodle : (pronounced "Shwamp Poodle")
near Forestville; this town no longer exists.

However Notice spelling as one word.

& Being in the History of DELANO I have to
think a Certain Area There maybe
even just a street, was Known as
Swamppoodle also.

Maybe the Mention Of resevoirs Could Help
Confirm Or Disafirm ?

There is a resevior in the penn pilot of delano, that picnic area in mahanoy city, is that off of glendon rd?

Info on the Historian

It appears diffrent blocks in the town where built at different times according to the parcel locater, the NW block dates 1890, some places date to 1880, I haven't spent much time looking but I'm sure theres even older places there.

I think that reservoir would be worth checking out, even if it wasn't a picnic ground, I bet people swam there.
