What is the deepest depth you have dug to retrieve an item and what was that item?
I'm talking coins, caches, relics, pots, kettles, chests, or sacks of whatever. Anything that you had to dig down to reach, cave exploration not included.
I'm curious how deep people have acutally dug to find their targets, I read that some of these long lost caches or hoards are buried up to 100 feet deep and it just amazes me that way back when people would dig down 100 feet, just think of the difficulties in excavation, getting in and out of the hole and lifting the dirt out. I have read about wagon trains burying their cash box during indian raids up to 80 feet deep and I'm surprised they can get that deep a hole dug before being over run.
