Man,,
I am jumping out of my skin to try out my new (well to me anyway) Fisher CZ70 pro. The previous owner is close to me (and a member here also) so I should have a pretty easy time learning the "how to's" of its operation.

My home is the first place to be checked. Built in 1850 ,, it was said to be part of the Underground Railroad. Which actually coincides with what the old timers called my area. (Little Africa)
Just remember folks,, there IS a reason for every name out there,,, especially the further you go back in time.
Originally the home had but 2 rooms, one up and one downstairs. The walls are like 10-12 inches thick too. I have found 2 of the outhouses and hopefully I will be able to dig them this summer, and hopefully probe around and find more of them.
Sitting on 4 acres,, the "yard" has quite a few locust trees on the perimeter that have fence-wire WAY up the trunks. and you can see old foundation lines too..so,, looks like I may not have to travel too far this summer. Although since the wife and I both have Delaware surf fishing tags for both of our Jeeps we try to get down there as much as possible.
Usually she reads and I chase blues, stripers and sharks in the surf. But hopefully I will be detecting if the fish are not being co-operative.

Just wishing for some warmer weather to hurry up and get here.

I hear ya, sick of this nonsense already. last year I was detecting mid march FB_IMG_1425230145841.jpg

I have had my fill of the snow; more coming tonight! :BangHead:

Don't feel too bad,now we are getting freezing rain and sleet here, just some more ice to add to the snow.

Yep two more storms coming at the same time will impact both the north and south. Named Spartan, and Thor. They say Thor is gonna throw the hammer down big time. Will it ever end!

hoser I hope so and martin you can have it:)

the snow is gone today! but....but... the rain has begun, for the next week. it is what it is but the snow and ice is gone, well until Wednesday at least or so they claim

Ughhh! 6" this snow, and I don't know how much the one Wed. will bring.
The one bright spot I "think" I heard 40 for the high one day next week!
That is SUPPOSED to be our average high temp this time of year not teens for highs and negative for lows....and the darned snow keeps replenishing it's self instead of melting.

I hear ya! Just bought, and recieved a CZ6a from Mel Parker off of the classified ads here on Tnet. Chomping at the bit to get out and use it! Spent today, 3:00am to 1:30pm, plowing, spraying brine, and spreading salt before the snow/freezing rain finally stopped here. COME ON SPRING!!

Same here. A week ago we were supposed to be in the 60s by today. That was cut to 38 a day ago. Yet we only made it to 32 today and we have freezing rain now. For weeks the temps never come close t the forecast. Its maddening! lol

just got a fresh 8 here in Indy

Hang in there guys, Spring is just around the corner!

Which corner? We'll go drag it over here!

I can hardly believe it but today its actually warmer than forecast and half the ground has no snow. Supposed to be in the mid 50s Wed. That should be the end of the misery! Happy dance.

I'm happy for ya Cross Potent! At lest you can now dig. It will be a long time before we see bear ground here!

well it was finally gone here but is expected back Wednesday, it is cold windy and sopping wet. gone from tracking in snow to mud and shortly back to snow....but that is still better than the ice!

Yep, I awoke to yet another snowstorm in the forecast. Havent seen anything like this since the late 70s. Although at least the accumulations here are nowhere near as large as they were back then.

Farmers generally start getting fields in our area ready for planting in April so we're losing time to swing and fast.

For sure CP,,,now watch this Spring for some huge flooding issues to arise as well..

Farmers fields will flood,,the corn and soy will be late getting in and hopefully won't be frosted out this fall while they are waiting for those crops to fully finish growing.
Then those also have to dry on the stalk too,,

The ONLY good point to it would be the higher water levels washing out more gold for me to find this year.
Mondays are my normal day off and yeaterday I TRIED to get to one of my spots,,,Couldn't get within a mile,,, over a foot of snow on the access road still and no way was I going to hoof it a mile more.

Deep sigh
