I have been doing some research and need a specific machine that will detect for deep (5ft+) buried treasure. How would any of you compare between the Whites TM 808 and the Whites Sierra Madre Automatic Are either one considered better in terms of metal discrimination and depth capabilities? Any other thoughts? Thanks for all your thoughts and considerations in advance.

I would go with the TM 808. Depending on size and composition of the treasure it should go the deepest.

Yes, 808 is awesome. I dont have one yet but I want one really bad. I used to have a Sierra Madre with 15" coil. Depending on target size, I could get 3'+. From what I understand about the 808 is that it will get great depth on large targets but not that good with smaller like a coffee can or small cannon ball. Dixiegal has one and can elaborate.

Hey guys and gals, thanks for all of your input and advice here, it really helps me out a great deal. I am impressed at how everyone on this site seems to help and offer up their advice on the topics covered here. Thanks again.
