I dug this rosette in Southern New Hampshire and was pretty excited that it was intact. It was only after I washed it that I noticed the face on it and got even more excited. any info would be appreciated.

Thats a nice one hope you get some info on it good find

Nice looking piece. I like the way you put clear coat over it to help preserve it, and bring out the detail.

The info on it is... it's awesome! I want that to be colonial but I have no idea. I would be excited to find that. I have fond a few rosettes but none had any decoration like that.

To be honest, it's just water lol i like the idea though. When I dug it, it looked like a pretty basic rosette with just some little details around in circular designs. I showed the homeowner and he was like "meh...that's kinda cool" I brought it home and soaked it in water and then power-sprayed it with the kitchen faucet (not the best way to clean a delicate object and that's probably why some of the patina/dirt or whatever it is came off the right side). But it was only then that the face was visible and now i wish i had been a lot more careful with it.
