Thought this was gonna be a silver dollar before I dug it up. Decorative pattern, seems to be aluminum or some sort of pot metal, has a tab like attachment on the bottom. There is no writing on it. Maybe somebody recognizes what it might be from? Thanks.

Is it just me or is there some sort of hesitancy to post pictures of the backs of things? ???

This could be from almost anything. I see the end of a crimped wire rod in the upper left corner, so may have had an identical piece both slotted to something and joined by a wire rod. Small part of an office, kitchen, bathroom, tool organizer thingamajig. Pippin's pen holder is a good guess.

The bottom tab looks like it was machine crimped. So this was slotted into a base or plate, and crimped into place.

Sorry there Bio, meant to say that it is identical on both sides. The pattern is a mirror image. So this piece was meant to be seen from both sides. Sorry bout that folks.

Could you show the back please. I think it is important to see what that "tab" looks like.

The back is identical (mirror image) to the front. The "tab" is pictured in the 3rd picture. I am calling the top the "big" end and the "bottom" the small end.

I know I got razzed for not posting the back, but if you read all my posts I said that it is an exact mirror image. I know this image is cheating, but it gives you an idea of what the "other side" looks like. (And that is a rare left facing lincoln cent :tard: )

Here is the tab I mentioned, it is at the "bottom" of this piece.

Maybe some of the new faces might see something. I know with no writing this could be ????

If not for pens, it's for something similar I think... two matching vertical pieces to hold something... the bottom of this clearly fits or snaps into a base.

I say pippin nailed it on the first post.

Hmmmm, thats really close. I never researched what pippen suggested a while ago. Great pic, MJ. I'll go with that as being what it most likely is and put this to rest. Now I can finally sleep after almost 2 months. ;D :tongue3:
