I have a wonderful backup and secondary machine in the Tiger Shark. After I clear weeds and hunt with the CZ-21, I go back over a lot of the places with the Shark. I don't think it gets deeper than the CZ-21. However, I do know it gets things the CZ-21 misses and it for sure has it's own place in my detector arsenal.

However, I was really hating the S rod. It was so hard to push down into weeds and move around it frustrated me. I had an extra rod for a Fisher 1280X that died and I thought a few holes drilled, the shaft shortened and presto. I would have a new diving machine.

So tonight I got out my drill press, cut off saw and screwdrivers and went to work. Since I never wade with the TS, I cut the lower rod down also. I took the clips out of the middle rod to mount the box on the Fisher upper rod. Hopefully this setup will work for me as it certainly does with the CZ's I have.

I did the same thing with a Plugger straight shaft. Ran the 11" x8" Widescan on it - Beauty! Just sold it to a fellow in Utah. Nice Job! :occasion14:

Glad you sold it. LOL I might one day run into him in Utah. I am looking to move there for 6 months out of the year. I was nervous about the connectors. The S rod works in open areas but pushing that thing down in weeds was an absolute pain. I am sure it works fine for wading also. I looked at Plugger rods and Anderson rods and was thinking of a carbon fiber Anderson. I will try this and see how it goes for now. I think it is very solid. Thanks!!
