This weekend was mostly a bust. I did, however, come across this men's ring while searching a jewelry box at one sale. I didn't want to study it to much since there were a ton of people waiting to look in the box and I didn't want to draw attention so as I was trying it on I quickly glanced at the inside and sure enough saw "925" so I kept it and only had to pay $0.50 for it! The stone is cracked and I think the diamonds have been re-glued in the setting which leads me to believe that they(diamonds) are not real.

Nice find, looks like a decent sized ring. Now if silver would only start to rise again...

I kind of did the same thing at a sale last weekend. I was going through a box of "junk" and in the bottom of it was a small plastic box that had .50 marked on it. Inside was 2.6 grams of 14k gold. A pair of mismatched earrings and a "Christian marriage encounter" symbol pin. Also in it was a 1/5 10k standard motor products pin, a jade horn pendant, and a pair of costume earrings. I quickly grabbed it up as others were looking over my shoulder.

We have a jeweler friend who is going to take the scrap silver we get and melt it into 5 ounce bars. I don't know what else to do with it. Maybe someday we wil find a refiner but until then, going to have sterling bars. I will post a pic after we get it done.

best finds....Real strands of pearls in the with costume jewelry, a sterling silver damaged water pitcher weighed 20 OZ. they thought was silver plated. A box of cufflinks which were 10 kt and 14Kt for 5.00
