Haven't been having the greatest of luck on the half front. Been sifting through repackaged dumps and skunks, but I did find a 40%er in each of my last two boxes, so it was nice to see some silver again. The box I picked up yesterday had a proof ender, so I had a hunch there might be some collection coins in the batch. Pulled a nice 1987 D in the first few rolls, saw lots of NIFCs, including one from this year, a few proofs (too mussed up to keep), a plated 1984, and towards the end of the box three 40% and a really shiny 1957 Benjamin. Feels great to find more than one silver and especially great to find the Franklin, which I think is a proof, kinda has a mirrored look to it though it could just be cleaned. No complaints here.

Looks like one of my local WF branches changed the way they order coins, now they only order once a month. I'll see if some of the other branches haven't been affected yet. Would like to keep hitting the halves after a refreshing box like the one I just had.

Stay Silver guys. 8-)

:coffee2: As you do more & more boxes, you will find that pepe le pew (skunk) are much more common than good boxes. If you can try broading out the banks you get your boxes from. Just as in golf, that 1 good shot makes up for 10 bad shots, that 1 good box (with silver) will get rid of the bad taste of the previous skunk boxes. As far as the repackaged dumps go, do you have access to a coin counter so you can get rid of them & not worry about getting repackaged dumps? That 57 Ben sounds real nice. Are you a collector? If so it sounds like you have a nice coin to add to your collection.

Do you have a pic of the '57? It sounds like it could be a proof.

Franklin proofs don't have a mint mark on the back (minted in Philadelphia) and are very mirror like.

Here's a photo of the Franklin in question.

Is hard to say because I am viewing the photo on my phone, but it looks polished.
Nice find either way!

I'll guess that it's not polished but is an impaired proof.

Nice find!
