My buddy Dan , who I credit with getting me into metal detecting - showed me a Seated Half Dollar in almost unc. condition

There used to be a guy around here that would throw pennies up and shoot them with a .22. My son found this one today it took me a minute to figure out what it was. Would hate to see a seated half like that but I'd take it. Lol

Looks to me like they were just a bit out of practice, they missed the coins center =) I had an 1883 IH that was precisely in the center, used to keep it laying on my dresser for display item and conversation piece. The only problem was my mom kept putting it in my change collection. One day I took my change collection to the bank back in the 1990s and the teller took my coins back to get them counted/sorted and after a bit I heard a loud bang explosion sorta sound. Evidently it destroyed their machine. Hope the new changers are made better!
