DAY2 on the HUGE FIELD..............UPDATED

I concentrated in the area that my dad found the Axe Head. Doesn't seem to be anymore yet

Had a few bits:
Scrappy Roman Bronze Coin
Few buttons (one 17th century type)
Broken Tudor Clothes Fastener
Musket Ball.

Find of the day went to a Bronze Roman whatsit.

I will be helping an archeological dig next week. The farmers put in a good word & they requested my assistance. I will take some pictures & report what I found at the end of next week.

Helping with the dig should get your foot in the door and probably lead to more promising spots. Once the archiologists realize the value of we simple uneducted detectorists, the more likely we will gain respect. I have volunteered to help out a local hysterical society and they have said they would get in touch with me next time they go over a site. Can't wait. I don't sell my finds anyway, just photograph them and put them away. Monty

I showed the Archeologist the Roman Thingy & its turns out to be a Roman Key Handle. My first Roman Key part so far...
