GARRETT ACE 250
I was off work yesterday, the kids were at school, and the wife was at work. I decided to go back to my grandparents house and do some weed eating around the yard for them then get another section of their yard searched (no, I won't come and mow and weed eat at your house to MD). I found mostly junk but i did find a nice 1919d wheat penny and $1.10 in clad (pocket spill). I was excited when I pulled up those 4 quarters but the wheat penny really was a treat. I can't imagine the feeling of silver or gold but, I hope to find out soon. The ACE 250 was right on on the coins. If it said 25 cents at 2 inches, then thats where it was. I'm getting a better feel for this machine and can't wait to go to my next few sites. I've got about 1/4 of their yard searched after three hunts and still have an older site on the farm to search.

I bet that can made your heart jump when you detected that can.. on my ace 250 the cans mostly always come in under silver... I also have some advise.. If your still learning your ace 250 ,don't think that just because you searched area that it's done an nothing left.. I was surprised at how much I missed in a site I searched when I was still learning my machine... an walk really really slow when you go back over the searched areas....

Smart man 2nd sentance you made sure everyone knew that the mowing and weed eating is only for grandparents! lol!

Great finds keep posting each time you go back!

nice.i use the ace 250 also and your right it is good with the coins

Keep hunting the way you do and silver and gold will come in no time.

Keep @ it and HH!!

I'll make you a deal....I'll bury some silver coins in my backyard. You drive to TX and level, backfill, and then mow my 1 acre backyard and then you can metal detect!

The aluminum can was right by the driveway and down about 4 inches. My ACE 250 went off like a slot machine hitting a jackpot. Talk about skipping a beat! When I saw the can I said aww-man and just stuck it in my pouch and moved on. I've been hunting in jewelry mode at 4-5 bars on sensitivity. I'm still getting a lot of steel, but that's OK. The pin point on my ACE 250 is dead on, right under the small forward loop of the coil. Can't wait till my next chance to dig. My finds have gotten better as my experience level goes up. Been researching some other places and can't wait to check them out. Our deer camp is an old log dog trot house that was closed in years ago and once had a store and post office in there. Going up there soon to start scanning it. There's going to be 30 years worth of pull tabs out front to go through. Hopefully there will be some goodies waiting for me also.
Can't make it to Texas, too far. Spent some time at Fort Hood a couple of years ago. That made me not want to go back for anything. Nothing lost in Texas.
Thanks

I am still in learning curve with the Ace 250. Boy is it fun! Any find is a good find. The next one's you find will be excellent!! HH
