Mystery Roman bronze object with some silver coating left on the top?? Possible military item?

Thanks for the replys.

Those that know me will realise these are slim pickings. However it is enough to finish the field which will take several months until better fields are ready. Plus the indication is that with the hard work will come a reward. Might be weeks yet but makes you appreciate it more. Once we have covered the land it will be ticked off the list & is unlikely to be done again (unless desperate).
 

Excellent finds as allways mind if I ask how and what you use to take the pictures as they show every detail.
