The day started with two no one's home, or no one's answering the door. :BangHead: So I went back to yesterdays permission. I swapped the stock DD with my 12" x 15" SEF coil. Hit the site and gridded it in another direction. Pulled 4 wheats, 1910, 35, 48D & 51D. There are about 20 zincolns in th side yard that I chose not to dig. Thought it was nice of me to leave a few targets for the next guy. :tongue3: 3 hours later I packed up and drove north. Thought I'd hit a tot lot the next township north. While walking from the van to the tot lot I hit a great group of targets. Pulled $2.70 in clad in a 5' x 3' area. No coins in the tot lot or around the gazebo :BangHead: so I left looking for an old country schoolhouse I drove by a week ago. When I drove by today I saw someone outside. :hello2: I turned around and pulled in the driveway. The young man stated that his aunt doesn't like strangers on her property. :censored: To lighten the moment I said I understood, but wanted to know more about the buildings history. This bought me some more time to admire the property. His brother came out and joined the conversation. Never the less I did not ask for permission.

Since I was out in that direction, I checked on a school that is being demo'd just to see the progress. Then I finally went to a permission I cleaned out in 2014. Not many targets dug there today. Only a dime and 3 pennies, I did dig a triple A item and the small maple leaf that was 7 inches down. I was hoping to pull and indian head or 2 since I used to disc out zinc when I pounded this site a couple of years ago. It has been hunted by 4 or 5 others over the years.

Not the best finds, but digging a 106 year old coin is not bad. :occasion14:

As always, I hope ya'll got out and swung the coil :metaldetector: today.

Tomorrow we are painting a vaulted ceiling and catching up on the other honey do's I've ignored all week so I can detect over the weekend.

Looks like a fun and rewarding day. I hope you don't pass up zincoln signals that are over 3" deep. You really might regret it.

Thanks Scuba, the 20 Zinc signals are all surface level, just under a sheet of moss on the shady side of the house.

Thanks rn, she was to get more work from me, but instead she decided that she could do a better job and so she let me swing the coil. I wasn't about to argue, I rather be happy than right.

Thanks PP

Thanks Digger, they had some, but I plan on going to the library in Lagrange Ohio to do more research, even though I doubt if I can ever get to hunt the place.

Thanks Jim, glad to see you are getting out and hunting permissions. I still hunt public lands, but only if I am out of permissions.

Thanks DGLOO, hey I figure gigging a penny from 1910 is like someone in the 70's digging up a civil war era coin.

Looks like another good day congrats
