The day started with two no one's home, or no one's answering the door. So I went back to yesterdays permission. I swapped the stock DD with my 12" x 15" SEF coil. Hit the site and gridded it in another direction. Pulled 4 wheats, 1910, 35, 48D & 51D. There are about 20 zincolns in th side yard that I chose not to dig. Thought it was nice of me to leave a few targets for the next guy. 3 hours later I packed up and drove north. Thought I'd hit a tot lot the next township north. While walking from the van to the tot lot I hit a great group of targets. Pulled $2.70 in clad in a 5' x 3' area. No coins in the tot lot or around the gazebo so I left looking for an old country schoolhouse I drove by a week ago. When I drove by today I saw someone outside. I turned around and pulled in the driveway. The young man stated that his aunt doesn't like strangers on her property. To lighten the moment I said I understood, but wanted to know more about the buildings history. This bought me some more time to admire the property. His brother came out and joined the conversation. Never the less I did not ask for permission.
Since I was out in that direction, I checked on a school that is being demo'd just to see the progress. Then I finally went to a permission I cleaned out in 2014. Not many targets dug there today. Only a dime and 3 pennies, I did dig a triple A item and the small maple leaf that was 7 inches down. I was hoping to pull and indian head or 2 since I used to disc out zinc when I pounded this site a couple of years ago. It has been hunted by 4 or 5 others over the years.
1910 penny
Today's Notables
All Finds (less trash)
Not the best finds, but digging a 106 year old coin is not bad.
As always, I hope ya'll got out and swung the coil today.
Tomorrow we are painting a vaulted ceiling and catching up on the other honey do's I've ignored all week so I can detect over the weekend.
