Day 4,5 & 6 - Big Grass Field......

Crusaderdad continues the hunt for the last 3 days before he starts a new job next week.

Pickings are still slim but signs are with hard work we may pull off a better grade item. Plenty of old lead & the odd scrappy roman are positives of better to follow.

3 scrappy Romans
1 cica 1800 military button
1 poor hammered
1856 silver Sixpence - best find
bits.....

I will take a 1/2 tomorrow & join the search for the big one.................

Henry IV or the like as it has the clover leaf(like) pattern for the centre of the cross on the reverse side.

???

It is a Jaw or Jews harp but quite difficult to date as they changed very little in hundreds of years. They are quite common & very little is known about who made them or where.

Found 2 this year already, one broken & this one. Probably find about 3 a year average.
