Rain again but I'm sure I've located not the old house but the place where the people gathered outdoors. Four silvers today! One quarter 1941, two Mercs 1929 and 1942, and an Ike 194?(embedded in a tar and gravel road). 10 Wheaties. I haven't said it but the pictures don't do the patina justice on some of these. The last Wheatie in the photo was also found embedded in the tar road bed. I think the gravel road was there first then the addition of the tar coating came later. Last but not least a 16 gauge Winchester shotgun shell.

That’s a killer four days. Good hunts.

I think I spy some thumb swipes, lol. Myself, I try to avoid reading my silvers until I’m at home and can rinse with a little water to remove the dirt. They scratch so easily.

Why just ten days? Fixin' to be developed? That would suck, more land covered over.

The owner past away and the kids are fighting over it. They can't sell it fast enough. To the highest bidder of course. Developers in this case. It happens all to often around here. Greed... some people just can't control themselves.

What a shame, once it developed it's gone for good. Less land for wildlife and old coins and relics built over. Sucks

It's a shame...The land is steeped in history. It's part of a small village that no longer exists called Beechville and less than a mile from Indian burial grounds.

Roosevelt, not, Ike. The only Ike coins are clad dollars made from '71 to '78. To remove road tar, soak the coin in some acetone and gently wipe the tar off.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and cleaning tips. Truly appreciated.

Well done on the silver recoveries.

It so typical when somebody passes on-the inner child comes out to play.
