Hey all, from the land of no beaches or battlefields...Rained all night here, got up this morning to sunshine, wet ground, and drove around town 'til I found a park with freshly cut grass. Turned the sensitivity way up and dug everything from foil to the right for the second day this week. Got some interesting signals but again nothing of great value...

Dug the aluminum cans and eventually got a Corvette emblem, any 'Vette enthusiasts know the scoop on this?

Got I believe what is a Railroad bale\ cargo seal, back says L&N RR

A Christan pendent written in Latin, not silver but lots of detail still visible. Anyone translate Laitin?
5.webp6.webp4.webp

A Pittsburg Pirate commemorative medallion, CocaCola McDonalds giveaway? 1987, same size as a US silver dollar.

And my first ever Buffalo Nickle with readable date on it, woo hoo!

Plus 73 modern coins, a nice ring that turned out to be plated when cleaned up (darn it!), a '57 wheat penny and two small wrist watches, (both marked stainless steel, double darn it).

And a great pile of trash...Nothing wrong with hunting in trashy parks, as long as you go when the ground is soft and the plugs pop out in one easy motion, just like beach hunting! ...Yeah, I know, almost...cheers!

Well you didn't find a cache of silver, but you did find a very nice Buffalo nickel which I've yet to find. So in my book a very nice day. Good going! I'm headed out the door right now to a not too promising house, but you just never know.

Nice bunch of finds!

Is it just the picture or did everything come out of
the ground a blue color?

I think I had the camera white balance setting for outdoor sun and took the pics indoors. I learned photography in the old days on a fully manual camera, and the camera I have now has way more automatic features then I have learned yet, good question, though.

oops duplicate post

hey, for where i dig, that's better than a stick in the eye! the clad goes in the fund bucket and the buff would be a great addition to the other cool things

Could hardly believe a Buffalo that actually had a date left on it. We usually get drought and rock hard dirt in the summer months, so I only get to dig nickle/ pull tab range signals after a good rain and in a place with short grass. Most of the summer I don't even try to dig the nickles and pull tabs. But after a good rain I usually try to knock myself out!
