Posted my first ever large cent yesterday. Went back to same site today for a couple more hours and scored my second. Found the first in a yard right beside the wood line so today checked in the wood line. Got a jumpy signal but figured since I was in the woods and not a nice grassy yard why not dig a crude plug and see what it sounds like then. Sure glad I did cause signal got sweet and there she was. Again not in very good shape, can't see anything for a date but I'm thrilled. It's taking an olive oil bath with my first one. Also found a cool old lock, two old buttons, one is destroyed, and a couple buckles. I don't know much about buckles but I'm thinking these are horse tack. Any thoughts on that are welcome. As always thanks for looking

At this rate you'll have a truck load of LCs lol
Great finds and it's awesome to dig some of your first old coppers. Best part is that it NEVER gets old

Nice digs and thanks for sharing those pictures

LC, LC, blah, blah, jealous, jealous. Translation, really awesome finds and totally congrats! love the lock too!

Congrats on number 2! And nice buttons. Your on a copper role keep it up. HH!

Great finds. Congrats on LC #2! Your site definitely has some age to it. Can't wait to see what else you find!

nice LC. looks like it has that "crust of detail" that they tend to get and makes them very fragile. Any detail is good detail sometimes!

Congratulations on your second large cent. Now just keep hitting that site till you find one with a nice date you can read.

Thanks everyone. Anyone have advice to share on how long to keep them in the olive oil? Is there a point it won't make any difference one way or another and is there a point it could actually make things worse? Appreciate your input
