Dateline Cleveland(correction): "$182,000 cache found! December 12th, 2007."
I watched the local news last nite and they showed how a home-owner is suing his contractor who tore some walls up to do some remodelling in a 1920's house in Chicago. He is claiming it is all his citing OHIO state treasure-trove laws on the books! (Hope he wins!!!) He pulled out $180,000 in currency that was neatly wrapped and in 2 boxes between the 2 X 4's and plastered over. The story assumed the original home-owner put it there when he built the house. I think it was put there AFTER the house was built. How about you? And, the current home-owner could have found the spot where it was at with a simple black light. Anyone else got any ideas on some methoths to see where a wall was redone AFTER the original? (Metal detector would be useless to find currency cacvh'es behind walls) Anyone got a pre-depression-era house they are living in now?? Good hunting!! ;-) stvn.************ UPDATE: Turns out I was NOT paying close attention to the news report. This happened in Cleveland, OH in May, 2006.It only made news because the contractor, Kitts, is suing the home-owner Reece to return the money to him because he found it. It was in TWO metal boxes in the wall below the medicine cabinet in the bathroom.....An appraiser valued the 1927-1929 bills at over $500,000!!
