Since getting back into MDing about two months ago I have been using the AT pro at every chance in parks, razed old home sights and even a fresh water beach on a blustely cool day cause I could not wait to get the blame thing wet. Even tried a creek that runs through a down town park. (If Anyone want some crushed aluminum cans, bottle tops and pull tabs, I have a bunch from that little attempt.) Unfortunately, the beach trip turned out to be a skunk except for a zincoln found in about a foot of water. After studing the fresh turned sand at that place I could see where someone had walked in a straigt line up and down the rows cut by the beach tractor and even a few coil strikes in the sand. Needless to say, I was not the first to hit that place that day, ha. Oh well, at least I got the pro wet and loved it.
Most recently, I received permission to hunt three 1919-1920 homes that have been repoed in our historic district. I am just working my way around the first of these and have been finding various junk and a lot of modern clad and pennies. I was surprised that I have not found a wheaty yet but I a got a boost today that there are some there and hopefully more of what I found.
As I was looking in the mostly bare dirt flower bed in the front of the house I saw the beautiful shine of silver staring at me. I bent down and found a really nice 1942 P Merc. Needless to say, I hit that area hard with the coil but could not get a signal on anything else. Plan to contiue looking tomorrow as it was getting to dark to continue today. Will advise. HH to all. (did'nt bother putting a pic of a merc dime cause most everyone knows what the look like.)
