My main question is about this hunk of pottery/ crock. I find pieces if this sort of crock all around my property and my neighbors ... Usually with hand forged nails n stuff. What time period did they make this type of crock?
I assume the copper button is just some sort of ordinary button? Nothing on the back to say otherwise . The one buckle is something from a horse harness I suppose. What is the handle looking thing? Any ideas ?

The handle thing seems to be a broken side of a horse bit.

Yes, it was big in the 70's I think.. Lol. I guess I should have asked WHEN they started to make this sort of glazed pottery . The properties I find it on date back to the late 1700's. Though it's totally possible that somebody took a huge 70's collection of it out in the woods n smashed it... Lol. But it's soooo widespread and I only find it when digging holes on a signal. And a lot of times it's found with really old forged iron.. But I suppose that could just be coincidence .

Hey your right, I feel silly I didn't recognize that .:)
I thought for sure this was right , but I can't seem to find anything very similar . Seems to small to be the part I was thinking . N it has grooves , like little gears moved into place on it
