Does anyone have a timeline on the development of the beer can?

I found 4 of these in an old manger that I am tearing down. The can is steel, with the top being aluminum. It looks like it had the smaller, tear off style tab. It also has a small logo on it that depicts a hand throwing trash into a can, and says........"Pitch In"

Sounds like an old term from the 70's.

Thanks!

Here is an old bud can I had on shelf, same style and from your state even. If you do not remember steel cans then you probably do not remember 3.2% on Sundays. If I remember right that type of can was around in the late 70 s.

I remember the steel beer cans too well. A real man could crush one with one hand. I was glad to see aluminum cans come into being because a real wimp could crush one with one hand! M ;D nty

Taz, The ones I found have the same West Virginia tribute on the bottom, just like your bud can.
