Not a great day overall but I did find some silver.

11 halves out of 3 boxes searched. 3 were 90%.

Ive been searching the dates as well as rim checking ever since late February and it is paying off big time.

I found 5 halves that were not seen by checking the rim. One of them is completely copper looking on the rim and I would never have given it a second thought if I had just checked the rim. I keep picking it up and looking at the date...its a 1966 but I sure would have passed it by if not for checking that date.

I did find one proof (another benefit) and 2 NIFC's.

5 more boxes tomorrow.

Wish me luck.

I've learned to pour them from my hand into a Bucket first or into the dump Bag, you know letting them flow out of my hand, and have a time or two found a missed Silver my the sound it made when it hit Bucket or Bag, but rarely miss one myself you see any that even have hint of question about look at closely and/or the date too.

I always date search, it doesn't take that long with there only being 20 coins per roll. It's paid off for me, I see marked rolls that have 1 or 2 silvers in them all the time. I love it when people rim search, more silver for me to find.

Next time your not sure close your eyes and drop it on the table or floor i'm sure you'll hear the difference. It's that simple.

I now search all my coins in the dark.

As have said I pour my coins from my hand after very quick rim search into Bog or 2 1/2 Gal bucket and have heard & found Silver missed that way- so don't get your hopes up on finding any I've missed; and can do 2 Boxes now and seal the dump Bag in under 1 hour!

Dump bag? I re-roll anything that I opened and deposit them that way, do you use a coin machine or something? I guess the real question is: What is the easiest/fastest way to dump coins?

I never check the dates and only rim check. 90% of the time I can tell if it's a Walker or a Ben, by the rim,and I can pick out a Brit Penny out of a roll of worn casino halves.
Every so often I have to check the dates on some of those early 70's foolers though.
I know the sweet sound of silver. Used to jingle that change in my pocket when I was a paperboy.
These days though I trust my eyes more than my ears.

By the time you guys are done playing Jingle Bells I already looked at the date and move on to the next roll. Like the old saying goes, "when all else fails, read the directions". In coin talk, when you aren't sure, READ THE DATE!!!!!!!!
