Daphne vs. the cat ghost?

Daphne is our "rescued" cat from Wisconsin. About nine last night she suddenly jumped from the couch and ran towards the door. I saw a small black shadow kind of do a spin and rise from the rug in front of the door, it disappeared just before she pounced onto the spot where I'd seen it.

She spun around, looking for her victim, couldn't find it. She ran into the dining room, spun around, and attacked the same spot on the rug! Now, I only saw the shadow thing once. But Daphne, she ran away, only to return and pounce at least half a dozen times!

My wife said another of our cats had been doing the same thing to the same spot just a couple hours earlier. I didn't see that. But I'll say this...if that was a cat ghost, Daphne kicked it's rear! :laughing9:

She's been patrolling the house ever since...a boon to me as she's not at the keyboard trying to help me type.

I like these kind of stories. Please post if any more happens. :icon_thumleft:

Good Story . Aminals can see them too. Do keep us up to date on the kitty patrol. :read2:

I sure will. This is the first time I've seen any of the cats react to a shadow, so it may be awhile. You ever notice how a cat will look at a spot on the wall, or the ceiling, the floor...just a spot anywhere? And, you look and can't see anything. Then you look at the cat and it is still staring at the same place, maybe even a little of it's hair has risen on it's back. Then you look back at the spot and try really hard, and still..there's nothing there! You look back at the cat and it's looking at you like, "Gotcha!"

Well, my cats are like that.

They do things like...one hides in the shower and waits until I'm shaving to leap out and scare me...but I use a safety razor so the jokes on him.

Hey if you have a digital camera maybe you could keep it handy for when you or your wife sees your cat chasing that shadow again, you could snap a few shots to see of you get anything on there, so if you do you could post a few pictures of it for us, Tim

I sure will Tim.

I'll give it my best shot. No promises, it's only happened the one time...or one night anyway, to two of the cats. And, if I leave that camera out my step-daughter will undoubtedly take strange pictures like, "What happens if I hang upside down and take a picture of the bottom of the coffee table?", and such. But I'll try.
