Dammit... That's not a dog tag!
Sunshine and the low tide lured me out to one of our more popular summer beaches yesterday. I lost first dibs to another gentleman already in the water, and I found plenty of holes where I think I was detecting behind him. His pulse detector (I think an Exal) was certainly finding him more targets than my CZ was sniffing out for me. Every time I glanced over he was scratching at something. I had plenty of hot rocks and false signals. I'm thinking I might want to consider the CZ21 upgrade to make sure I'm getting the depth I should be, or move ahead and grab a Deus and pray that the promised saltwater coil can do good battle with our black sand and hot rocks.
Jewelry continues to elude me at the moment, but I had a lovely day out. I thought I had found some truly old coins at one point as they were 6-8" down in the black muck and well crusted over as seen in the shots. Turned out to a some well aged Lincolns... Bugger! Then I found what I thought was a nice old dog tag, only to get it home for a cleanup, and it's a darn crematory tag! That will be getting placed back in the rocks on my next visit. Goosebumps!
