Saw me walk on and pull a '44 Georgie right off this morning. Near that came the old purse remains sans contents and a possible drawer pull identical to one Mayo had found earlier. Sinister looking thing too. Mayo suggested a "Punisher" theme but which influenced which? Backside of the hill gave this strange id band, aluminum with a name and RR box inscribed. Looking for input on this one folks. Any ideas?

This was followed by several hours of lag time in some of the best looking grounds to be found in the old woods hereabouts. A once beautiful old estate, a sort of mini-arborial personal compound now going feral. Got a Pepsi bottle still waiting to be returned for the deposit, wonder what that nickel is worth today? Found a crosscut saw with a PLASTIC handle, what self-respecting person would....

Last site we wandered into once held a vast dairy complex but limtied time revealed only a couple wheaties. Can't find mine now, May be Mayo is driving around with the copper on the carpet in his truck...

Thanks for coming along Mark and Rich, and Mark wowed us with that arrow find! Rich, how many clocks and watch parts did you get today?!? Wild! Mayo's copper honey hole, mountain of mems...

Great stuff!

CONGRATS ON THE SILVER AND SOME UNIQUE FINDS!

Congrats on Silver George. That Aluminum id band is interesting, maybe you should write her :laughing9:

The silver is sweet, but that tag is a better find IMO. Can't wait to hear what its "special purpose" was.
Seems like a delivery tag for a plant, small tree etc.. I don't know but I Googled the heck out of it every which way, and couldn't find another.

Now that tag is an AWESOME find!!! Bigtime congrats to you for unearthing that baby!!! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Thanks fellas!
John you may be on to something there. Found a coule florabunda tags also today in one of the other nearby sites, small squared aluminum tags of clearly newer vintage. I can't see this band as having too many purposes but that one fits well.

Well its about 90 miles from Elgin to Rock Falls, maybe you should do some recon. :icon_pirat:

Hunted Rockfalls about 18-20 years ago, near the bridge. Sweet town! Lemme know when you wanna out to Rockfalls/Sterling area, great old history out there!

Thanks again Tim for inviting me along, had a great time. As far as the watch and clock parts rescued from the CCFP sites, haven't looked them over yet but most likely will end up in the brass, copper or trash buckets. That tag from Rock Falls you found is an interesting find, hope you find more info on it.

That tag is VERY cool  I wonder if the historical society in Rockfalls
might have some obscure info about Marilyn tucked away in their closet.

Thanks again for the invite. . . it was a fun hunt with you guys.
