D2 search coil

be prepared, it is heavier than the 950.. If I could, I would trade my D2 for a SEF 10x12 in a heart beat..

The D2 will separate better than the 950 and has great depth, I use the D2 most of the time. HH

No real complaints on the D2 from me. I switched to the 8 x 6 SEF for the size and separation though and have had the best luck with it so far.

I have the d2 and noticed it to be very heavy I also only use the sef 8x6 great coil to use with the mxt series detectors.vanzutphen

I used the D2 for a fairly long hunt and was worn out afterwards. The 10X12 SEF is much easier to swing for me. I do think the D2 will give you good depth and separation but just a little hefty for my taste.

I use the D2 most of the time and like the above said, it is on the heavy side. Yesterday I used the new manufactured for White's Detech 13". It is easy to swing and lighter than the D2. The coil also seemed very stable and allows you to cover more ground. I found several clad coins on my first time out with it. I also use the 6X10 Eclipse and the 4X6 DD. In real trashy areas the 4X6 is a killer on coins. Good luck with your VX3, I have fell in love with mine after much reading and field use.

Do you see a need for both the D2 and the detech 13"? I think my D2 coil is developing a fault and I've been thinking about replacing it with the Detech....any comments? Thanks

My VX3 woke up when i started using the DD coils in my area. I have the d2,6x10,4x6. The only time I put the 950 on is when i go to the beach. Good luck

I now hunt with the Detech 13" and what a difference. It detects, pin points quiet to use , lighter than the D2 10" and goes deeper. My VX3 does an outstanding job with it and it is now my go to coil.

The D2 is my coil of choice on my DFX. It is a little heavier than the 950 but I like the depth and separation. It is a little sensitive to EMI but I can live with that.
