We all know Yuengling beer is Pennsylvania's greatest beer, but did you know that in the 1880's and 90's they also brewed in New York City?

This is one of their NYC based beer bottles made some time in the 1880's until 1897 when David Yuengling Jr. sold the NYC venture to the Betz & Son’s Manhattan Brewery.

Imagine this bottle has laid out in the open since at least 1897 until today. Here it is in situ:

There is a great Chinese restaurant in town and one day I sat at the bar to have a beer while waiting for my take-home. I ordered a Yuengling and got into conversation with the Chinese owner. He said he has Yuengling on tap because it sounds Chinese, Yueng- Ling. That's almost insulting considering the history of Yuengling.
