Got my replacement battery door for my CZ 20. One capture screw is slightly out of alignment. I can deal with that.

Main issue- there is a HEAVY duty plastic array inside of the replacement door which adds about ½ inch (compared to the original). This makes it so you cannot close the battery door.
Has anyone dealt with this problem or did the wrong part or what.

I only got it because the used CZ 20 I got had cracks that you could see light through. I repaired them but I don't trust that they wouldn't open up again.

Observation-under the foam pad of the original-it looks as though some one cut that same HEAVY duty plastic array down & covered it.

I got this at the end of July and still have not tested it in the water. Another wasted day.
Any INPUT-PLEASE.

If you bought it used, you have a CZ-21 door which is different from the CZ20. Fisher can send you a new door for the 21, but I don't know what they charge and they mainly want you to send them the whole CZ20 so they can convert it to a 21 for $$$.

When my CZ-20 dies, if ever, I will just buy an new CZ-21. But I have a Tiger Shark, 1280, Excal and some PI's for the water.

So instead of my water detecting debut :
Ocillating saw, nippers and sanding. Part description-replacement for CZ 20, CZ 21 & 1280. Delightful.
Hopefully this 20 will either never break down OR last long enough to pay for the upgrade or a newer 21.

Dirty trick on the door

I haven't checked my 1280, but I think it fits the CZ-20.

Per Daniel at Fisher--the exterior is the same for all three-BUT- a 1280 door would have to be "milled out" to hold the batteries in a CZ 20/21.
