CW Sword Quillon....Maybe?

I found this at one of the field's at Antietam almost 2 month's ago.First thing I thought was sword....and forgot about it.Tonight I "electrocuted" my second to last shell frag' and started cleaning up on some other piece's,this is one of them.It still has some gold gilt and has the same design's on both side's.Almost look's like lead where the thing was split almost like an old buckle or rosette back.I got this one pic out of one of my book's......Any Idea's??

Well if it was a sword i can see why it fell off; being part of the hand gaurd. Have you search the area you found it well?
