Got to go on a hunt today on some ground that edges up close to the battle site of Spanish fort. Not much left due to housing all over. But get down in the thick swampy areas and the T2SE shows what’s in the dirt. These are my first CW finds since coming here from Iowa. What a great start to a new collection!! A fired minie ball, a confederate enfield, and best of all, a shenkle percussion fuse. It’s not much but I haven’t got to hunt here much at all.

It looks like you have a good spot. I like your shenkle fuse. I have one from a shell that exploded so it is kind of torn up. Yours looks like it was not used and is in great shape. I see more CW relics in your future. Keep swingin.

Gotta love finding CW relics. Nice finds.

I've got a Schenkl fuse adaptor from Antietam. Nice save :occasion14: I'd be going back there asap!!

There is a lot of history down there, one of my kids lived there for a while and I made it into the swamps a couple of times with a local. I probably found 50 bullets and a couple of fragments. Those locals are hardcore, they hunt at night a good part of the year due to the extreme heat and deal with the gators, hogs, and snakes...my friend recently sent me a video of a night hunt where he ran across a large eastern diamondback. Good luck down there and be safe.
