OK, we all know that no place is ever hunted out, but yesterday I went out for a brief hunt to a patch of woods behind my house that my son and I have hunted a lot. Got a weak signal with my Fisher F75 which I've only been using for about three or four months. Long story short, is, the first item out of the hole was the 1859 half dime. I then scanned the dirt pile and got another good signal which turned out to be an 1857 flying eagle penny. The pics however don't do it justice. I couldn't get good enough resolution. I got a third signal in the dirt which turned out to be the best of all, a new one for me, an 1853 Quarter!! :hello2: It was, needless to say, an excellent way to spend an hour in the woods! Thanks for looking and HH!

Now that's my kind of pocket spill there DV.....Awesome recovery

Great group of finds.

1853 Quarter with rays and arrows. Only minted this way for one year. Very cool. :headbang:

I'll add a little to this story....

The hole in the coin looks consistant with holes made with a dagger or small sword tip :icon_thumright:

sew them puppies in your shirt!

Nice spill congrats! :headbang:

Those are some great finds!
Since I haven't dug any seated coins yet I'd be thrilled with any of those, let alone all three. Glad that F75 did the trick for you, I love mine.

Super Finds!!! Congrats on a great day.
Attention Dman: See what this gentleman did with his F75.
WTG and HH. Those coins would have bought two weeks groceries back then. HH.

DV, what reading came up on the display? Thanks.

Initially just a surge in the hum, I usually hunt in all metal mode, but as I got the three targets the number ranged from 65-75.

Great Finds!
the 1853 quarter is awesome and in decent shape!
