Hi all.

Saturday the mad cladder and I invited ourselves to hunt with vw1978 at one of his CW spots. I had my best days for CW finds. Found a couple 3 ringers, my first Williams cleaner, first fired bullet and a mostly complete Spencer cartridge. At first I was thinking the bullet may have been inserted upside down, but then realized all I had to do was weigh and compare against a Spencer bullet I had previously found. The cartridge I found Saturday weighs 295.6 grains and the previous bullet I had found weighs 393.5 grains, so it would appear the bullet was cut off.

It was suggested on the Civil War forum it may have been cut to make a game piece. User Devldog thought he saw what looked like an X carved into the top of it that I hadn't even noticed. I took a better picture and it sure looks like an X. I'm counting it as a game piece. :laughing7: Thanks again devldog!

We all found some CW items that day and that always makes for a more enjoyable hunt. Looking forward to the next time we can get over that way. :laughing7:
