Had a pretty good day in the camp. Some bullets knapsack stuff and a bent NY button and a couple things I can't identify . . .

What is this? Figured it for part of a drawer pull, but I've found two in different CW spots. Any ideas?

Next, what kind of weird bullet is this??

While we're at it, could this bullet be a miscast? There is no cone in the bottom . . .

One more . . . what kind of carbine bullet is this?

Here's the day's worth . . .

1st photo may be a bottle stopper of sorts,it would have had a cork, the 2nd photo is indeed the middle piece to a shaler...

Here are some I dug out of a trash pit... That hat badge did not come out of the trash pit and is post CW

Nice job on the relics. The bullet you were thinking was miscast appears to be a semi melted bullet from a fire pit. I have dug them like that near fire pits. I would be trying to locate the fire pit and dig it out, you can pull some killer finds out of them. Some pits are around two feet deep and two to three feet in diameter. The small metal relics may be too deep to register on the detector but many times you can locate the pit by looking for a concentration of iron hits and dig till you start finding wood ashes mixed in with the dirt. A tile probe also works good and saves on some digging, just probe around the iron concentrations till you hit the soft ash.

Nice digg's !

The carbine bullet is a confederate Richmond Labs sharps

Thanks everybody! My last few posts I have been hunting farm lanes only, as I got permission on this spot, but can't get into the fields (crops) until late this year. I'm pretty excited for the brass and lead I've gotten - and just restricted to hunting 2-foot strips of grass on either side of gravel lanes. Can't wait to hit the fields!
