Cliff and I searched a hay field that was being baled while we were detecting. The ground was dry and hard eliminating depth. We had already found several old coins, a rare token, and some flat buttons previously. A house was there in the 1800's. This time I found a rivet, a spencer shell casing, lead shot, a small flat button, a well worn 1859 Indian head penny (first year issue), and a union army infantry officer's button. Years of fertilizer had taken its toll on the finds.
