Cutting back on the Ace 250

yes, it is just part of metal detecting, if you notch them out you also notch out other goodies. Besides when you clean all the crap off the surface it makes it easier the next time to find good stuff deeper down :dontknow: :icon_scratch:
you can just cherry pick and do coin mode and notch out nickel and you won't be bothered with as much but you lose the ability to find gold if it happens by
if it were easy every body would be doing it

I noticed the same thing when I took my ace out for the first time the other day. I thought wow this is a ton more sensitive then my old detector. MAy be a good thing though :hello2:

isn't it suppost too? I have had my ace a few months now and I thought it was normal. if it the same kind of foil I jus eliminate it for that session.

Try this...............

I haven't used the Ace for nearly two years now. I only posted that to show him how to program the custom mode. When I was using it though, I would turn down the sensitivity in really trashy areas. Normally I ran it with two bars but sometimes only one. Others might have a different way of doing it but where I was detecting, it worked great for me.

normal basic hunting setting with a ace 250 --3 bars was the norm for me -- but i sometimes would drop to two bars at times --in trashy areas --at the beach wet sand -- if you get too high sensivity level wize the 250 can get touchy, falsing quite a bit and acting up a lot near power lines too.
