found a brass walker replica dollar coin. ....No idea why someone cut it in to two pieces
Probably to see if it was really silver. I don't see where it says "replica" or anything -- counterfeit?

The Panamanian coin was actually minted in the US:
24,740,000 were minted in Denver and 260,000 were minted in San Francisco.
Don..
That’s interesting, I didn’t realize we minted any in the US

It’s been cut into two pieces, I just put them together so everyone could see the complete coin. Where it’s cut is brass colored all the way through. It’s dated 2020, i tried to search replica walker dollar coins but didn’t have any luck.

That's what I mean -- without the brass coloring, you would think it was a genuine 2020 US one ounce bullion coin.
Here's the real thing:

I’m going to have to use a file on the cut edge, I’m thinking maybe the brass stuck to the saw blade and transferred to the cut edge

I just took a file to it, it’s brass all the way through. It’s bright, shiny and yellow where I filed it.

I'd say it's a counterfeit then. Replicas are supposed to say so someplace. Neat find, especially since you found both pieces!

It was pretty cool to find both pieces, I wonder if it was polished at one time and they tried to pass it off as gold. It’s still a first for me.

Nice haul - congrats !

That's a real neat recovery getting both halves as you did.
Unique coin also.
I've only recovered both sides of a silver dime once, many feet apart.

No edge reeding. No leg on the U and the other lettering flare is different. I'd say counterfeit that someone found out and tossed.
