Got a new permission for a very old colonial site in central Virginia and had a couple of very good hunts. Highlights over the 2 days were the 1736 cut silver and 1600s trapezoid buckle . Along with some decorative buttons and a nice arrowhead on the surface, early dog tag . And a bizzare find (1800s foreign coin ). Not sure what the other holed silver is possibly a reale .

Great day of hunting , liking the early everything!! :occasion14:

That's one of the earliest tags posted up. Nice arrowhead as well

Congratulations on your major accomplishment on this great hunt

Great job. Your foreign coin is a Greece 10 Lepta, looks like a 1878-82 piece.

Thx all

Nice digs, looks like a good day detecting. Love that cut silver!

Hey Greg! Long time, no see. Looks like you're still killing it down there!

Can you measure the unidentified 'holed' silver? It looks like it was dropped in the road and trampled a lot!

I'm guessing it is a 1 Real. Measurements will help tell the tale.

They were legal tender in the US until 1857. Many of them were worn slick by then but stayed in circulation for a long time afterwards with the value of a US dime.

First, congrats on the awesome hunts. Is the cut coin holed, as well? We don't see many cut coins anyway, but I'm sure I haven't seen one holed.
