I found these items at an old church that was said to have been Union Barracks during the Civil War. I am wondering if one could associate these cut pieces of lead as Civil War relics. I watched a video on UTUBE that seemed to corroborate the fact that pieces of cut lead have been found on the battlefield. I found these pieces of cut lead all in the same spot and also found these six lead balls on the same church property. These are the first lead balls I have found and am not very schooled in the Civil War relics. Can anyone give me more info on the use of cut lead as projectiles? The UTUBE video has this guy doing ballistics test on the subject. His video lends credit to the fact that the cut lead pieces could very well have been used in a hasty situation where a soldier didn't have time to make his own balls on the battlefield.
These pieces of lead are all about the same weight and are about the same weight as the lead balls.
The cut pieces were all found in the same spot. (Same hole)
