;D Here is my experience with Garrett's Service dept. ; after experiencing
some problems 30 days after my purchase of the GTI 2500 in 2008, I called the factory and they instructed me to send it back(at their expense) which they checked it out and sent it back to me(total turn around 9 days), it worked fine. Fast forward though the winter to spring of 2009(I live in MN frozen ground from mid Oct to late Apr and I'm Trapping) pulled it out for the yrs first hunt and hunted about 30 hrs. machine went bananas, called Garrett's talked to a tech, sent machine back (at their exp) they changed the mother board and a couple of other chips returned it to me and told me if I had further problems they would replace both 9.5 and 12.5 coils, yep you guess it when I plugged in the coils the 9.5 sounded like "it was Gonna BLOW!,the 12.5 got no response. Called them back and they shipped 2 new coils the same day! Talk about customer service they even through in an extra extension and clevis Assembly free of charge. machine seems to be working fine as far as the 9.5 haven't gotten to try the 12.5 yet. Hats off to Garrets Service Dept.

May your detector always find the good stuff,

Trapper
