Big log home, shows up on an 1879 map. Home was dismantled in the 1980's and moved to Tennessee. Site is very clean so to speak, very few nails/iron. The site is on the front yard of an existing home.....mowed like a golf course! So far, 1891 and '96 Indian Heads, 1911 Barber dime, handful for wheaties ranging from 1910-1953, scrip token, soap token, dog tax tag and some great buttons. The site was plowed for 10 consecutive years for a corn crop after the home was removed.

Thanks for sharing. Original log homes are few and far between. I've been to two that were still standing and both were void of period relics. I assume one was detected before , while the homeowner of the other never had someone detect in the 30 or so years that he lived there. It's great when the research and hard work pays off.

The very first log cabin that I detected had no period relics. Additional research after the fact....it was built in the early 1950's.

Great looking site! See if you can somehow determine where the outhouse was located. I've always found some silver on the path between the house and the outhouse for some reason!
