Metal Detecting
Found this on a beach next day after a small event during spring break. It has two indentations on the side and what looks like S235 stamped on the inside. It is not light weight but not what I would call heavy either. Thinking it could be gold plated and it has some scratching. Curious as to who makes it. Don't think it has much value as the small event was for spring break attendees (college kids).

Hi fcreason
Welcome to the "Show".
As it is fabricated from structural steel it is a very strong ring.

S235 is a summary of a number of properties that the material has. For example, the 'S' indicates 'Structural'. Loosely, that means structural steel or steel. The '235' indicates the yield strength in MPa (megapascals in N/mm²) at a thickness of 16 mm.

Well, my bad. Upon double checking the number stamped inside the ring, using better opticals, it is S925. My guess is that means it is not steel.
Also, on seeing the detector used it was not the Bounty Hunter, gave that away a long time ago, I used a Minelab Vanquish 540.
Sorry for the confusion. Thanks Robot for the info. I did not know that the stamped numbers gave that kind of information.

Hi Fcreason,
No problem, here on Treasure Net we only want to seek the truth!

When shopping for silver rings and other pieces of silver jewelry you may see a small stamp on the inside, and if you look closely, it may read s925 or 925.

This stamp means the piece is made of sterling silver, or in other words, the metal is 92.5% pure.
While 92.5% of the ring is silver, the other 7.5% is typically copper, or some other strong metal like nickel or zinc, used to make the metal durable and flexible enough to shape it into the wearable jewelry you know and love.

With your further investigation...You have increased the value of this Ring!
