Howdy All. I talked the wife into excavating with me tonite after work and I think the old adage about lady luck is true. We only had about an hour of light to dig but we found a first for our "team-o-two", a '43 Washington quarter!
I know for many of you Washington's are old hat but in 4-YRs of serious diggin' this one had eluded us. We have previously found 6 Merc's, 4 Indians, 2 Buffalos, 1 Barber dime, 2 Rosies, 1 Standing Liberty Quarter, and numerous Wheaties but never a Washington.
I have been digging this large 1920's curb area BY MYSELF (my wife said "It's it's too hot and there's no shade") for a few months now and have found many nice relics, toys, keys, locks, ammo, jewelery, etc. but never any silver. Immediately after unearthing the Washington we found two WC's together in another hole about 3-FT away...suuwweet! I guess it is true Wheaties = Silver eventually.
BTW we also found a 1998 Rosevelt "P" dime, didn't know there was such a coin.
Thanks for tuning in and good luck out there.
