These were found at a site thats history goes back into the late 1700's. One is a cuff button, and the other is a plated brass piece that has a clip on the back, and unique designs on it. The cuff button has a design on it but I am not sure what...kinda looks like a star...maybe a crown....eagle? Any info on what these are and maybe their age would be greatly appreciated!!

Thats what my wife said too. There have been some really nice finds pulled from this area including a calvary sword belt plate and a couple of kings mountian military buttons. One was (KMMA) kings Mountain Military Academy and the other was (KMMS)Kings Mountian Military School.
This was once part of a 6000 acre plantation and is also within a mile of a battle site in the revolutionary war. There have been buttons and bullets from colonial until modern pulled from here also.
I had thought maybe the cuff button was off of a kmms coat. A KMMS coat button was found very close to this cuff button.
thanks for the input!!

I see a crown on the button, but couldn't find any pics of buttons like it.

Book clasp is a good guess on the brass item. Could also be half of a ladies dress buckle...
