Took the Ctx on spin number 4 today. My buddy Dave (Blskypilot) and I where out for the better part of the day. We hit 4 locations and found only a total of 3 wheats and very little clad!!! UNTIL we went back to the truck.:laughing7: Seems to happen that way. Well I was looking for the old mailbox when I turned around after a junk signal and BAM!! I got a 12-44 12-47 but it sounded different from the other 12-45s that where just clad. It had a squeal at the end. Ended up being a 1952 Rosie!!!:hello2::hello2:..

I believe you said that was found "under the driveway", my my how things get to where they are found would be an interesting tale to know. Congrats on the first silver, sounds like the machine will pay for itself. Have fun..........63bkpkr

Congrats! How you liking the CTX? I've only gone out twice with mine (2nd hunt very short) but so far I'm in love.

So I like it a lot. It is going to take time to learn the tones and trust the target trace. I dug trash that it was trying to tell me it was trash by the scattered pattern. I did not listen. Lol.

Same here. I'm digging a lot even though I'm right that it's trash. Since I have access to my own trashy backyard and my parent's, I can be patient and not have to worry about cherry picking. And since I'm in learning mode and not find mode, mentally it's the same fun. I figure, come spring and better properties, I'll be well versed in the machine.

Insomnia gave me a couple hours of reading the manual last night. Amazing what you can learn when reading the user manual! I'm glad I didn't before I used the detector, as learning some stuff after the fact makes it sink in better for me.

Ah, reading the manual - and yes reading it after running the detector can bring out things that may have not been noted the first time around by not having had experienced the new sounds. I tend to carry a good target with me and toss it on the ground every so often just to listen to what the machine sounds like with a good target. Have fun fellas and I've every belief you will.....63bkpkr
