My buddy Armstrong was cheating on me and the other Jim this last weekend.

No wonder he doesn't like hunting in Kentucky.

While me and Hill Billy were wondering from field to field here in the Bluegrass

without much success this dog was digging up CS stuff in Virginia.

Armstrong dug the block A button and a Seated dime not shown.

His buddy Warren dug the CS tongue and the 1773 Virginia half penny.

You know they already did that.

Love those CW finds, and boy did you step back in time with the 1773.

Fine bunch of relics. I imagine they traveled across many states and miles to end up where they did.
Nice finds.

Well Deno, you forgot to mention that Warren and I were both hunting with a Nautilus DMC II Ba detector. The block A was dug from about 10" of nice sandy Virginia soil. I hate to admit this, but Warren found the CS tongue about 18" from a hole that I had dug earlier in the day. It made feel a little sick, but I am glad he found the plate, it is his first CS plate. I was hunting with my small 6" search coil and I think if I had my 10" search coil on that I would have got a signal on the CS plate. Oh well I am happy with the block A button, and it made my drive to Virginia worth every penny of the gas it cost to drive there this week. We looked all over for the wreath part of the plate, but no luck.

sweet finds!!! would love to dig those someday!! I'll be in VA next week so maybe I'll find one of them. congrats

Outstanding!!! Any one of those three items would be a banner day!! always love the Virginia coppers!!

Your avatar is sweet.

You are right about the Nauti, it is the deepest seeking machine i have ever seen.
I think it's all those batteries.
